“I Didn’t Take The Oscars As A Joke.” Kanye West on Racism, Art and Innovation

Kanye West was unapologetic (as usual) on the Ellen Show this past week, here are some sound bites from his speech:

“I was raised to do something, to make a difference.”

“I didn’t take the Oscars as a joke[…]talk about how many times you’ve been blocked from being able to excel[…]It ain’t no joke”

“Don’t tell me about being likeable. We got a 100 years here, we’re one race, the human race[…]we’re a blip in the existence of the universe and we’re constantly trying to pull each other down.”

Whether you agree with his tactics or not, West expressed himself in a way many wish they could but lack the confidence to do so.
