Hunger games lead actress Jennifer Lawrence is in hot water for scolding a reporter for using his phone while asking her questions about her win for “Joy”. As a video of Lawrence reprimanding the reporter surfaced the internet, fans and twitter users burst out with anger, expressing their unhappy feelings about the incident.
“Sooo guttered with how Jennifer Lawrence went on with the foreign reporter at the Golden Globes, proper put me off her,” one user tweeted.
Another went on to say, “Jennifer Lawrence practically bullying a nervous reporter with broken English in front of his peers isn’t….funny…”
Now, what did JLaw say that got fans so mad?
While being interviewed by a reporter who was reading his questions from his phone and appeared not to speak English perfectly, the actress interrupted him, saying “You can’t live your whole life behind your phone, bro, you can’t do that. You’ve got to live in the now.”
After a brief laugh, the reporter then asked Lawrence “How do you see yourself for the Oscar night?”, the actress interrupted him again saying “We’re at the Golden Globes. If you put your phone down you’d know that.”
The incident went viral and many social media users expressed their anger towards the 25 year old, nonetheless, some people who were present at the Q&A refuted the criticism. Chris Trondsen, a host on Pacific Rim Video, wrote, “He was taking pictures & video of Jennifer Lawrence while asking his questions & I even found it distracting.”
Some eyewitness however stated that the reporter was not a native English speaker and was using his phone to translate the questions.
