In 2018, American Idol is back with some new faces. The singing competition is vamping up its style with famous stars at the judges’ table. Country singer Luke Bryan and soulful singer-songwriter Lionel Richie will be joining Popstar Katy Perry on the judges’ panel with Ryan Seacrest as the original host.
The new judges recently went on the ‘Good Morning America’ to share their thoughts and hope for change in the wake of the mass shooting in Las Vegas that killed 59 people and injured 500 people.
“We just don’t know when it’s going to happen again and we’re all trying to figure out the answers,” said Katy Perry, 32, during the judges’ joint appearance on Good Morning America. “I’m not saying I have the answers, and I pray every day. But the one thing we have to remember is prayer without action is powerless.”
Luke Bryan, 41 and Lionel Richie, 68 also shared Katy’s grief by adding “It was one of the most heartbreaking days of my life and for this country too.”
The trio of judges also opened up about working together on the show and how they plan on finding new talent during the audition process.
