Apple launched their iOS 11 update this week and introduced a controversial new feature. iPads and iPhones now include a screen recording feature which allows users to record what they are viewing on screen.
This feature differs from previous Apple updates because people that are watching Snapchat posts and direct messages from social media can now record what they’re seeing.
Snapchat users will be notified when someone uses the recording feature on their account, unlike other social media networks who still haven’t adapted to Apple’s new feature.
According to The Telegraph, “Snapchat is attempting to fix the issue in its latest app update (version 10.17.5) … the fully-updated app may not be able to detect when screen record is on if the person using it hasn’t also installed the latest version of Snapchat.”
