Raro Lae caught up with ‘If Beale Street Could Talk’ cast Regina King, Kiki Layne, Stephan James on the red carpet premiere in Washington, DC during the African American Film Festival at The Smithsonian’s National Air & Space Museum. If Beale Street Could Talk the move is based on the original novel which was written by James Baldwin. James Baldwin was born August 2, 1924, in Harlem, New York. One of the 20th century’s greatest writers, Baldwin broke new literary ground with the exploration of racial and social issues in his many works. The movie was created by award winning director Barry Jenkins, who just recently directed the multi-award winning movie Barry Jenkins.
Regina King gave advice to career women considering having a baby at the height of their career, and how the industry has changed for good and bad since she started in 1985.
